SICOMM's full duplex intercom chips put the RF transceiver and the baseband on one die. On a custom protocol, they support half duplex and full duplex two-way calls, and full duplex multi-way calls for up to 6 people with no limit on listeners.
An integrated audio codec, noise suppression, echo cancellation, voice activity detection and automatic gain control are on chip, and the chip handles the data link layer and most of the call control layer. The firmware is held on chip and the host controls it over UART; both chips come in a 7 × 7 mm BGA120 package for small designs.
SCT3089 covers 150 – 960 MHz and SCT3088 covers 2400 – 2500 MHz; otherwise their structure and interfaces are essentially the same. Each comes with two firmware builds: the RBL suffix is multi-way intercom, FBL is two-way.
