SCT3288 is SICOMM's lead baseband processor for two-way radios, supporting DMR, dPMR, NXDN, DCR and PDT. In dPMR and DMR modes it completes the entire physical and data link layers and most of the call control layer, complying with ETSI TS 102 490 / TS 102 658 and ETSI TS 102 361 respectively. It integrates a 24-bit audio codec and the AMBE+2™ and ASELP 1.7 vocoders, and runs from a single 3.3 V supply.
The firmware is held on chip and the host controls the device over SPI, which makes migration from an analogue radio design straightforward. SCT3258 is the previous-generation baseband processor: it works with an external codec and continues to be supplied to existing customers. New designs should use SCT3288.
On the RF side, SCT3288's master SPI drives the SCT3811 direct conversion receiver directly, and the two form a dPMR / DMR system (see the reference block diagram below). The SCT3604 broadband power amplifier covers 130 MHz – 1 GHz with up to 34 dBm output, for VHF and UHF radios.
Highlights
- Five digital radio protocols: DMR, dPMR, NXDN, DCR, PDT
- dPMR Tier 1 / Tier 2 and DMR Tier 1 / Tier 2
- Built-in AMBE+2™ and ASELP 1.7 vocoders
- Automatic analogue / digital detection on receive, with CTCSS / DCS
- Baseband, RF receiver and power amplifier cover the radio signal chain
